Booking Rwanda Gorilla Permit Procedures
Booking Rwanda gorilla permit requires planning and booking ahead of time. It’s important to note that no safari company in Rwanda sells gorilla permits directly except they book them on behalf of the travelers from the Rwanda Development Board which is the government body responsible for selling gorilla permits and golden monkey tracking permits. For booking Rwanda gorilla permit procedure, you have to be with following requirements:-
-Date of Trek, you will be required to submit the date of trekking so that they too check the availability of gorilla permits from the Rwanda Development Board.
-Copy of the valid passport, at least 6 months valid copy of the traveler’s passport from the date of travel is required for booking Identity of the gorilla permit.
-Age limit of 15 years and above. Rwanda’s age limit for allowing visitors to trek the mountain gorillas is 15 and above.
-24 hour transfer period for the fees, meaning that after all the services are reserved clients are expected to transfer funds right away as the rule for the gorilla permits are first to come and first serve.
Cost of Gorilla Permits while booking
A single gorilla permit in Rwanda costs $ 1500 paid by all travelers including Rwanda citizens.
To all travelers who plan to do gorilla trekking during peak season/ dry season in the months of December to February and June to September, require you to book at least 4 months in advance. Being a dry season/ peak season receives big numbers of visitors and it’s more favorable to go hiking without too much mud and slippery terrain. The rainy seasons of April – May, and November generally are not as competitive as the dryer seasons.
